My PS5 was fully off when I returned to it after putting it in rest mode for a few days. The console storage was fixed during the lengthy bootup process. Every time I switch from rest mode to normal mode, the login screen is replaced by a 'Please wait...' screen. Hence, it now takes five to ten seconds longer than before.

When your PS5 gets stuck on the "Please wait" screen during data transfer, you should first wait patiently for a few minutes. If this situation isn't solved, you can restart the PS5 console:

Turn off your PS5 console. Ensure it's in full power-down mode instead of rest mode. To do this, depress the power button and hold it there until the device beeps twice.
Unplug it from the wall and wait five or more minutes. Then, reconnect it to the wall and reboot.

Step 1. Boot your PS5 console in Safe Mode:

Power off the console and unplug it from the wall for a few minutes.
Then, reboot it and hold the power button for seven seconds.

Step 2. Rebuild Database

In the Safe Mode screen, select Option 5 - Clear Cache and Rebuild Database.

The last method you may try is to reset this PS5 console back to the factory setting. This process will clear and erase all the data on it. Please back up your important data before trying this method.
