I got the free GTA V download from the Epic Games Store. It requires installing the Rockstar launcher, which doesn't even open, so I can't play it. I want to uninstall the Rockstar launcher, but I can't. How can I fix this issue?
Cici· Answered on Jun 25, 2026
To completely uninstall Rockstar Games Launcher, you need a professional app uninstaller. If you are a beginner, I recommend using the free uninstaller EaseUS Todo PCTrans Free. This software enables players to remove programs without leftover files:
Support Windows 11/10/8/7
Install the EaseUS Todo PCTrans Free version on your computer and refer to the instructions below:
Step 1. Select App Management, then click "Start" to safely remove and fix any corrupted apps.
Step 2. Choose the Rockstar Games Launcher among all installed apps on your computer. (If the uninstall process doesn't work, click the little triangle and choose "Delete.")
Step 3. Click "Uninstall" in step three. (To fix programs, click the symbol just beneath "Uninstall" and select "Repair.")
If you are an experienced computer user, you can follow the official tutorial to uninstall the Rockstar Games Launcher:
Step 1. End all the running Rockstar Games games.
Step 2. Go to the default location for the Rockstar Games Launcher installation folder: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Launcher
Step 3. To uninstall the Rockstar Games Launcher, double-click the uninstall.exe program.
Step 4. Keep the game data unchecked while you uninstall it.
Success, thanks for submitting!
