To transfer documents and files from one PC to another running Windows 10/8/7, you can restore to the cloud storage service OneDrive. OneDrive allows you to save and share your files and photos with friends and family, and access them from any device, anywhere.
If you have a Microsoft account, you automatically get 5GB of storage for free. While if your documents are larger than 5GB and need extra space, there are affordable options with much more storage. The 100GB will cost you about $2 a month, and the 1TB will cost you about $7 a month and will let you subscribe to the Personal Edition of Office 365.
- OneDrive won't help you move applications and settings from one PC to another. If you need to transfer installed programs from one computer to another, here is the way to out.
Step 1. Find and right-click the file you want to transfer to another PC. Select the "Share" tab on the toolbar. On the pop-up window, choose "OneDrive".
Step 2. When the OneDrive opens, click the "Add" button to add and upload the documents to your OneDrive cloud account.
Step 3. When the syncing finishes, you can open the OneDrive app on another PC. Right-click on the document or file, and select "Download". Then, the documents will be transferred from one PC to another.

3. How to Transfer Documents from PC to PC via a Free PC Data Transfer Tool

Step 2. Make sure you have chosen the right transfer direction.
"New" - Move data from old computer to current new computer.
