Diskpart says the specified disk is not convertible

"Last night, I booted up my PC with a Windows 10 Pro install disk and ran Diskpart, hoping to convert my system disk from MBR to GPT. But when I perform clean and convert GPT command on disk 0 (which is my system disk) and it says: "the specified disk is not convertible. CDROMs and DVDs are examples of disks that are not convertible". how do I fix the error and get the disk converted to GPT successfully?"
