Transfer data, software and applications to Windows 10

Introduce indirect and direct ways to transfer data and applications to Windows 10. With windows 10 releasing, more and more people upgrade to Windows 10, transferring data and software would be a big problem.

Windows 10 with more features has arrived. Some Windows fans have prepared to upgrade from Windows7/8 to Windows 10. Or Windows XP users want to grasp the chance, directly upgrade to the latest Windows Operating System. No matter you want to replace your old computer or upgrade to Windows 10 on the same PC, transferring data and programs to the new PC, OS is a big problem. About the files or data migration, we could clone the whole drive from the old computer to the new computer, or backup and move the crucial data to the new PC. Windows Easy Transfer is another choice, we could use it to transfer data to Windows 7, Windows 8, but it is unavailable for Windows 8.1, 8.x and Windows 10. Compared with file migration, transferring programs to a new computer with a new Operating System like Windows 10 is tougher. The below will introduce the direct or indirect way to migrate software to the new OS and the new Computer.


For Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP

Indirect transfer software/applications to the new computer with Windows 10 or the Windows 10 after in-place upgrade.

EaseUS Todo PCTrans can migrate our data and programs without network, not need to keep the PCs in the same LAN Network. The indirect way also supports to transfer software to the new OS on the same PC.
Step 1: Install EaseUS Todo PCTrans on the old computer and run it, there are two ways to transfer applications and data - Via network connection or Via a Compressed Files. Choose "Via a Compressed Files"

Step 2: Create the image files. It would pop up the new window after clicking Via a Compressed Files, click "Create the image files", we could customize applications and data to transfer. Choose these software or data to create the image files. In the top of the window, change/edit the location to save the image files.

Step3: Transfer from the image files. After successfully creating the image files on the old computer, we could use the removable storage to move the image to the new computer and the new windows operating system. Run Todo PCTrans on the new computer and click "Via a Compressed Files" "Transfer from the image files". Todo PCTrans can recognize automatically the image files, we also manually choose the image files to transfer.

Using the direct transfer, we need to keep our PCs in the same LAN network and it doesn't support to move the software to the new OS on the same PC.

Step1: Run the Todo PCTrans on the two PCs. The programs will detect another PC or through clicking "+" icon and input IP address to connect another PC.

Step2: Choose the software/applications to transfer. After connecting the two PCs,we can edit applications and data to transfer.
