Transfer Programs like Adobe CS6, iTunes, Microsoft Office to New Computers

Updated on Dec 24, 2018 by Daisy to PC Transfer

Summary:
You don’t have to use a ton of time to re-install programs after upgrading to a new system. Simple PC to PC transfer software can do everything for you and allow you to move and run a program on a new computer. This can also be accomplished manually, by modifying the registry files and transferring them along with the program itself.

"I need to transfer some applications such as Adobe CS6, Microsoft Office, and iTunes from my current XP to my new Windows7 PC. How can I do this easily? I know I can move data with a USB drive to another PC, but what about large programs? If I just use the USB, will they be able to run on the new PC?”

Transfer Programs from PC to PC

As displayed in the above situation, the hardest part of changing to a new computer or upgrading to a new system is having to install our software on a new PC. Microsoft released Windows Easy Transfer, which can help us migrate data like settings, music, photos, video, email, but it doesn’t support installed application migration. EaseUS Todo PCTrans Pro is an easy-to-use PC migration software that can transfer an unlimited number of applications, files, and user settings from one computer to another.

The process is as follows:

Download

For Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP

Step 1: Launch EaseUS Todo PCTrans on your source computer, select the "PC to PC" feature and then click "PC to PC" to continue.

Manually Transfer Programs from One Computer to Another

First, I will say that this is a much more complicated way to transfer a program from one computer to another. It is certainly a solution, though, if you have enough time and don’t want to pay anything. You can, by the way, use the free version of EaseUS PC Trans to transfer 2 applications.

  1. 1. Sign out of the application that you want to transfer..
  2. 2. After analyzing, make a backup of the program.
  3. 3. Export registry entries for the program – this is very important, it is saving all of the program settings. Leave all the default settings and click OK. Under Save As navigate to C:\ProgramData\Martau\Total Uninstall 6\Backup and save there.
  4. 4. Through the "Command Prompt", set the security identifier on the targeted computer. Modify registry file so it will work on other computers. This modification will differ depending on the PC you are transferring to.
  5. 5. Copy the registry and backup files to the same location on the other computer.
  6. 6. Restart the new computer and run the application.

Don’t forget to make a copy of your program registry entries before you transfer applications. If you need transfer data or programs from one hard disk to another disk or from a corrupted partition to another one, we suggest you follow the video below.
