How to copy your games from one computer to another? The most common question comes up in one's mind while enabling the same. If you are not interested in going up with EaseUS Todo PCTrans options, here are the manual options that can help you allow valid game migration.

Method 1: Move Steam Games to Another PC

Make sure Steam is installed so you have the default set of folders available on the new PC.  First, you will need to copy the game from the source PC, and then transfer it to the new PC. You can use a large drive when transferring games.

Step 1:  Open Steam and go to the Settings option followed by Downloads.

Step 2: Click on the Steam Library Folders to open the games. Right-click on the game you want to transfer, and select browse local files. It will open the game folder. Go back one step so you can see the game folder. Copy the folder and paste it into the drive so you can transfer it.

Step 3: You next have to navigate to the new Steam library folder. Now create a new folder over there and name it Steamapps. Create a folder in the Steamapps folder with the name Common. If you have already installed steam, these folders should be there.

Step 4: Copy the game folder from the drive and paste it here. Next, we will need to ensure the game gets registered.

Step 5:  Now tap on the Install button to reinstall the game. Once done, go to the Choose Location dropdown menu and then select a Steam folder to your new hard drive. Steam will automatically detect the game is there, and it will update if required.

Method 2: Steam Backup and Restore

A better way to move the game to Windows 11 PC is to use the Bult-in backup and restore method. You will need to use an external drive to back up the folder which you can then use to restore.

Step 1: Open Steam, click on the Steam menu, and select Backup and Restore Games. It will then ask if you want to backup the existing game or restore from the previous backup.

Step 2:  Select Backup currently installed programs, and it will then list the game you want to backup. Check the box next to it and click next.

Conclusion

As you can see, it is tough to move games manually unless an option is available with the Game application itself. However, it is not the case with all. The manual method also involves the risk of the game not getting appropriately registered, resulting in errors. The best approach would be to use apps such as EaseUS Todo PCTrans, which takes care of everything much faster than manual or reinstall methods.
