Can I Change My C Drive from My SSD to My HDD?

I wanna move my Windows from my SSD to my hard drive. Are there any drawbacks to this? I do not mind the slower boot speed, but will it affect anything else? Is it possible to change the C drive from an SSD to an HDD without losing data?

Moving your Windows from an SSD to an HDD will only affect the boot speed of your computer, and it will not cause damage to other things. Undoubtedly, the days when SSD drives dominate the hard drive market will not be far, but it does not mean HDD drives will be abandoned. HDD offers more storage space at a lower price, and HDD makers are still trying to make HDD have better performance in write and read speeds.

Since Windows does not have built-in cloning settings, you must use third-party disk cloning software to migrate your C drive (system drive) from SSD to HDD. Under such circumstances, you can try professional disk clone software, EaseUS Disk Copy.

It is an easy-to-use and reliable cloning program for Windows that lets you clone HDDs or SSDs and migrate your Windows from HDD to SSD, SSD to HDD, or SSD to SSD. It can also easily make a new SSD/HDD C drive and create a WinPE bootable disk to boot your new PCs.

In addition, it lets you clone hard disks with different sizes and bad sectors. It can suit you well if you want to transfer your data from one SSD to another. Here is how to use it to migrate your OS from SSD to HDD:

Step 1. To start cloning SSD to HDD, select the SSD as the source disk in "Disk Mode" and click "Next".

Step 2. Select the HDD as the destination disk.

Step 3. You can choose "Autofit the disk", "Copy as the source", or "Edit disk layout" to adjust the disk layout.

Step 4. Click "Proceed" to start disk cloning.

You can change your C drive from an SSD to an HDD by using EaseUS Disk Copy. After cloning, your HDD will be bootable, and you need to go to BIOS settings to make the HDD your first boot drive.
