I have a hard disk with three MBR partitions. The first of them got corrupted somehow, so I launched TestDisk to try and rewrite the partition table. But it ended up writing the partition table as GPT instead of MBR. So when I try to reinstall Windows 8, it sees my three partitions, even letting me delete the corrupted one and create a new partition, but I cannot install it because it is partition-tabled GPT. How can I fix this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regarding your question that you say I can't convert my GPT disk to MBR, I would like to share some useful methods with you by providing detailed steps in this passage.
This first method is to use a third-party tool: EaseUS Partition Master. This software can help users convert the disk from GPT to MBR. Besides that, it can also help users bring up the conversion of their disk from MBR to GPT. More importantly, it is a perfect software tool to help users fix their issues easily. Compared with other methods, you do not need to delete all the files and partitions on your disk. Therefore, it is a more suitable and easier tool than any other method. So you can try this software.
There are some detailed steps for you to follow:
Step 1. Download EaseUS Partition Master on your PC and launch it.
Step 2. Go to Disk Converter, select Convert MBR to GPT, and then click Next to continue.
Step 3. Choose your MBR disk, and click Convert to start the conversion.
In addition to the above function, the EaseUS Partition Master also can help users achieve other functions as follows:
Besides, there is another method, which is to use the command prompt. This method also can help you achieve the conversion from GPT to MBR. However, it is a more difficult and inoperable way for computer beginners, and this method needs to delete all partitions on your GPT disk. Therefore, if you do not hope to delete all the data, you need to make a backup of your key data.
There are some steps for you:
Step 1. Open Command Prompt running as an administrator and type diskpart.
Step 2. Type list disk and then press Enter. Note the disk number of the GPT disk.
Step 3. Type select disk #, and Press Enter. (# means the GPT disk)
Step 4. Type clean and press Enter, and it will delete all the files on the disk.
Step 5. Type convert MBR and press Enter.
Step 6. Type exit to close Command Prompt.
In a word, it is believed that you can fix your problem via the two methods. Now you can have a try. Good luck.
