How to Fix Sandisk 1TB SSD Not Getting Detected

My Sandisk 1TB SSD is not getting detected in my MacBook Air-M2. The same SSD gets detected in my Windows laptop. I am using a USB C -USB C cable. I tried formatting in Ex-FAT in my Windows, but it still failed. How can I fix this error?

To solve this Sandisk 1TB SSD not getting detected on MacBook Air, you can first try mounting your SSD in Disk Utility. Here are the detailed steps you need to follow:

  • Step 1. Navigate to System Preferences > Disk Utility.
  • Step 2. Ensure your external hard disk is listed in the left panel.
  • Step 3. You can choose and click your hard drive. Choose "Mount" from the drop-down menu. If everything goes well, you will find everything in the Finder under the Devices section.

You can also run the First Aid in Disk Utility to fic SSD not showing up on Mac:

  • Step 1. Find and open Disk Utility.
  • Step 2. Choose your SSD from the left sidebar.
  • Step 3. Tap on the "First Aid" from the top.
  • You can check if your SSD is showing now.

If both ways fail, you can take formatting unrecognized SSD as your last resort. You need to back up all your files before you start this process. Follow the detailed steps here:

  • Step 1. Launch Disk Utility.
  • Step 2. Choose your SSD and click on "Erase".

What to help when you forget to back up your files and lose all your critical information? This is where you need EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac. Only if your files are not overwritten you can use this software to help you. Even permanently deleted files can be retrieved, so you do not need to worry about your formatted SSD.
