Can I Move Windows EFI Boot Partition to Another Drive

My PC dual boots Windows 10 and 11, each installed on a separate SSD. I want to erase the Windows 10 disk. However, my computer won't boot past the BIOS if I unplug the Windows 10 SSD. According to the Disk Management program, my Windows 10 drive is where my EFI System Partition is located. How do I move the Windows EFI boot partition to another drive?

If the EFI partition is deleted or missing, your computer cannot boot normally. Thus, whether you want to clone the EFI partition to free up more disk space or simply make a backup of the system disk, you should choose a reliable tool. EaseUS Partition Master Free will meet your requirements perfectly. It can make a precise duplicate of your EFI partition for free, ideal for transferring to a new drive or backups.

Follow this step-by-step tutorial to move your EFI partition to another drive:

Step 1. Download EaseUS Partition Master and select "Disk Clone" from the left menu.

Step 2. Click "Clone Partition" > "Next" and select the source partition.

Step 3. Choose the target partition on your SSD and click "Next "to begin.

  • To avoid overwriting data when cloning a partition to its existing location, you should transfer or back up the data beforehand.
  • Verify the warning message by checking "Yes."
