How to Clone a 1 TB Partition on a 2 TB Disk to a 1TB Disk For Free - Help

Hi, I am a Fortnite player and it is a pain in the neck to not having smooth gaming experience. I just learned that it is better to store the OS on an SSD, and data on an HDD to ensure so. The problem is how can I clone my 1 TB partition on this 2 TB SSD to my newly-bought 1 TB HDD? I only know about copy and paste. Is there a quicker way? Any advice will be appreciated.

Hello, it is a great choice to store your data on the HDD and OS on your SSD to improve your computer's gaming performance. As you mentioned, the method of "copy and paste" is one way. However, it comes with limitations such as low speed. Given that you have a large number of data, that is, 1 TB partition on your SSD, it will take you a lot of time to transfer. Also, you might fail to copy some data in the process. Locating these data can be a headache.

Luckily, I know about a tool suitable for you to solve this problem. It is called EaseUS Partition Master Professional, which has a "Clone partition" feature. It allows you to move all the data on your partition, whether files or apps, to another drive without data loss. In addition, compared to the manual way, using this tool can help save a large amount of time. More importantly, the tool will check the file system for you before beginning.

Step 1. Launch EaseUS Partition Master and go to the "Disk Clone" tab. Choose "Burn ISO".

Step 2. Select your 1 TB partition on your SSD as the source partition. Select your target partition on your HDD.

💡Note: You should make a backup of your HDD in advance to prevent it from being overwritten.

Step 3. Check the warning message and click "Yes".

Step 4. Click "Start" for the clone to complete.

With the help of EaseUS Partition Master, your cloning process will be much quicker and safer. It won't take you much time and efforts to clone your 1 TB partition.
