In my organization, we are using hp servers and Windows Server 2012R2, and we have installed four 2TB HDDs using HP Smart array. Right now, I can only use 2TB of the total 8TB since they are installed with the MBR method. The drive I can use is the C drive with only 2TB of space, and I have 1.4TB of company data on the C drive. Is there any way to convert the drive to GPT without losing data and OS (Domain Controller)? I don't want to waste the remaining unusable space. Appreciate it if anyone could help me.

Knowing how to convert MBR to GPT without data loss on Windows Server is one thing; however, knowing how to convert MBR to GPT without losing data on Windows Server is quite another. GPT is an abbreviation for GUID Partition Table, and MBR is an abbreviation for Master Boot Record. Converting between the two is usually not possible unless the existing partition is deleted using diskpart.
Although there are different alternatives for converting MBR to GPT, it is better to use a third-party application. Because this method doesn't have to delete the disk partition/volume, you can easily convert MBR to GPT without data loss on Windows Server.
EaseUS Partition Master Server is my recommended choice for such third-party software. Besides being the easiest conversion tool, it is also compatible with all Windows operating systems.
