Why Won't the Computer Go into BIOS after Installing a New HDD?

My computer is running out of storage, and I have decided to change to another larger HDD. I cloned all my data on the old hard drive to the new one with Clonezilla. After cloning, I install the new hard drive on my computer, but it can't go into the BIOS settings. I was sure that everything was plugged in. Why can't I go into the BISO? Can you help me to solve it? Any advice would be appreciated.

If your computer doesn't go into the BIOS setting after installing a new hard drive, it may be caused by the following factors:

  • The connection of your HDD to your computer isn't stable.
  • Your new HDD is corrupted.
  • Your computer has a motherboard issue.
  • You are not pressing the key to enter the BIOS.
  • Your HDD wasn't cloned successfully.

No matter for what reason, you can try the methods below to make your computer go into the BIOS setting.

  • First, unplug your new hard drive, and connect it again. If you can enter into BIOS this time, it is a connection issue.
  • Try another working hard drive and test if you can enter BIOS. If yes, then your new hard drive is corrupted or has bad sectors in it.
  • Install your new hard drive on another computer, and check if it can boot with the new hard drive. If you can, then it is a problem related to your motherboard.
  • If you don't press the key to enter the BIOS, you can't enter it. Different computers use different keys, and they are usually F2, F8, F10, F12, ESC, or Delete keys.

If none of them works, you may need to perform a new disk clone and then install it again to boot it. Using reliable software is the key to the success of disk cloning, and you can download and try EaseUS Disk Copy. It is a professional hard drive cloning tool that helps you migrate data from one disk to another without any error. You won't lose any data during the process. When you finish the cloning, install the new cloned hard drive into your computer, and try to enter into the BIOS setting by pressing the corresponding key.
