Backing up game saves is crucial to keep the game processing and prevent data loss due to game or system updates, computer viruses, hard drives failing, etc.

To keep the security of the PC game saves, there are four ways you can consider adopting.

1️⃣Backup game save via backup application

This is the first and most prevalent way that most game players use. EaseUS Todo Backup is a professional backup tool with a game backup feature. You can choose game save file locations with the File Backup feature manually or get access to the APP Backup to select the game folder automatically.

It allows you to save all game files via File Backup with a few clicks.

2️⃣Copy and Paste

Another way to back up game saves is through manual copy and paste, the most traditional method to keep a copy of the original files. the shortcuts are "Ctrl+c" and "Ctrl+v".

The copying and pasting method is only suitable for small-size games. Otherwise, it will take a long time and may cause data loss during the process.

3️⃣Save games to cloud storage service

Cloud services have become increasingly prevalent due to their large capacity and quick accessibility. Saving games on the cloud, like OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, HiDrive, etc., gives you great convenience for getting games on any device. They can automatically sync game data to cloud without manual operation.

4️⃣Use File History

File History is a Windows built-in utility to back up files. You can set an automatic backup plan to store game files on a network location or an external hard drive.

The backup software should be the first pick among the four options since it provides the most effective and easiest game-saving backup solution. This robust backup tool will never let you down.

🎁Bonus: The game saves are usually located in the following locations:

  • C:\Users\NAME\Saved Games\GAME
  • C:\Users\NAME\Documents\GAME
  • C:\Users\NAME\Documents\My Games\GAME
  • C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\GAME
  • C:\Program Files\GAME
  • C:\ProgramData\GAME
  • C:\Program FIles\Steam\USER\GAME
