Does Resetting Windows Wipe All Drives?

Something is wrong with my Windows 10 computer, so I want to perform a factory reset. But I have many data stored on my drives, except for the C drive. Does resetting Windows wipe all drives? What can I use to protect my data? I will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

No, resetting or reinstalling Windows will not wipe all drives.

Resetting Windows will clean user files such as downloaded documents, music, images, videos, and previously installed software. Windows reset only resets the C drive; your other drives are secure.

Users can perform a factory reset if the Windows operating system becomes corrupted or suffers from major software problems. The resetting process will delete the applications and files installed on the system, then reinstall Windows and any applications originally installed in your system at manufacturing time.

When you perform the factory reset, you have two options: Delete everything or Keep my files. If you choose the latter one, you can retain your files. Furthermore, you can back up crucial files that you do not want to lose before you reset your Windows computer.

When it comes to backup, you can use professional backup software, like EaseUS Todo Backup.

It is an all-in-one backup and recovery program for Windows 11/10/8/7. It can help you factory reset your computer without losing data. And it allows you to back up files, systems, disks, partitions, and PC apps. In addition, it lets you perform full, incremental, and differential backups and install Windows 10 from one PC to another. Last but not least, you can enjoy a security zone and 250G free cloud storage to protect your data.

Resetting Windows will not wipe all drives, but you can use EaseUS Todo Backup to protect your data before performing the reset.
