Here is how you can create a restore point in Windows 10 using Command Prompt:

  • To open the Run dialog, press the Windows key + R.
  • To open Command Prompt in admin/elevated mode, type cmd in the Run dialog box and then press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER.
  • Type or copy and paste the command below into the command prompt window and hit Enter:

         wmic.exe /Namespace:\\root\default Path SystemRestore Call CreateRestorePoint "", 100, 7

  • Replace the <RestorePointName> placeholder with any name you like.

Though it is convenient to use a built-in tool like System Restore to back up all your data, it is relatively slow, and you need to check if its backup is stored occasionally. That is why we recommend you use a professional backup and restore tool like EaseUS Todo Backup. The EaseUS Todo Backup is the best to restore all your lost data. It's the most efficient working tool so far.
