What Do I Need to Backup Before Upgrading to Windows 10?

Hello, do I have to back up all the data and files (photos, documents, videos, etc.) on my computer to a different device before upgrading to Windows 10? I didn't do that when I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you need to create a backup of your important files, such as photos, music, documents, videos, system files, and any other data you want to keep.

Additionally, it's critical to back up any installed applications and settings you might have changed. You should make a backup of any saved passwords, bookmarks, and email accounts. Confirming that you have a working product key for any paid software you may have acquired, including Windows itself, is also critical.

Before upgrading, making a system image of your present Windows installation is a good idea. This will create a precise replica of your current system, including all your installed settings and programs. If something goes wrong while upgrading your system, you can use this image to restore it.

To make all these done, using professional backup software like EaseUS Todo Backup is your finest choice.

It is a second-to-none backup and recovery tool for Windows PCs. It helps automatically back up files, disks, partitions, systems, computer apps, etc., and save the backups in diverse paths, such as local drives, external drives, NAS, Security Zone, and Cloud.

Backing up your important files, such as photos, music, documents, videos, system files, installed applications, and settings, and creating a system image of your computer can help you prevent data loss before upgrading to Windows 10.
