How to Recover Data from Partially Overwritten Partition

Hello, I have accidentally deleted all my files in the partition, and I have already written some new data on it. Is it still possible to get all my files back? Any help would be appreciated; thank you in advance.

It depends. It depends on how much data you have overwritten and where you store the newest files. The best way is to download and install the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard to scan your partition and to recover data from partially overwritten partition.

Download for Win Recovery Rate 99.7%
Download for Mac Trustpilot Rating 4.8

If you can find the deleted or lost files in the scanning result, you can recover them anyway. So here is how you can do this to recover lost partition:

Step 1. Click the button or visit the official website to download the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. Launch it and select the partition where you have lost the data. You can find your data with the help of this software when they are not overwritten.

Step 2. The software will now automatically look for your lost files by quick scan; then, it will perform a deep scan to find more lost files. When the process is done, you can type the file name or use the Filter feature to locate the files you want to retrieve.

Step 3. To preview the recovered files, double-click them. Then click "Recover" to save them to a safer location that is different from the previous one.

If your operating system is Windows 10 or later generation, you can restore the lost files from the previous version like this:

  • Open Windows File Explorer and locate the folder where you have stored your files
  • Right-click anywhere inside the folder and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu
  • No2, under the Previous Versions tab, find the earlier version of your overwritten files and restore it
