Microsoft Word keeps crashing on Mac, which is very common, and there are many reasons leading to it. Read the following causes:

  • Your Word files are lost or deleted accidentally.
  • You may be running an incompatible version of Word on your Mac.
  • Some third-party tools are interfering with Microsoft Word.
  • You may unintentionally move the Word application somewhere else.

If you are sure that your Word files are lost, you can use EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac Pro to recover Word files.

Do as follows:

Step 1. Download and open EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac Pro. Select the disk where you store your lost Word files, and tap on "Search for lost files".

Step 2. Move to the left side of the scan results window. Choose "Type" and "Documents". You can use filters to choose the lost Word files.

Step 3. To preview the Word documents selected, double-click them. Then, you need to click "Recover" to get the lost files back.

If you are sure that your files are not lost or deleted, you can first try opening your Word files in Safe Mode. You can also remove the Word folder to the desktop like this:

  • Press Command + Shift + G to open the Finder.
  • Find the folder names ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word.
  • Drag it to the desktop and relaunch the Word to check if the issue is solved.
