Why Pen Drive Is Write-Protected and How to Fix?

One of my pendrive got write-protected, and it is read-only now. I don't know what causes it and what to do to resolve it, which is annoying. Can someone help me out with this? Thanks!

As we know, write protection is used to protect the files in your external drives from accidental deletion or modification. But sometimes, the drive is write-protected automatically, which influences its performance. A pen drive became write-protected for many reasons: 

  • The pen drive is physically damaged.
  • The pen drive is affected by a virus or malware.
  • The file format is not compatible with the PC.

Step 3. Find your write-protected pen drive and select "Disable."
