How to Assign Partition Name on Windows with Disk Manager

I just bought a 10TB SATA3 hard disk and added to my HP Windows 10 laptop. I want to use the D partition only to store movies and games. To recognize it more quickly, I want to name it E for entertainment. Can I make this partition Local Disk (E:)? Is it possible? Is there a disk manager tool to help me? Please tell me if there is, thank you.

Hi, I can give you some options to help. Windows assigns the drive letters for your partitions automatically, and it allows you to change them, except for the C drive. You can use the built-in tools such as Disk Management. You can follow the steps below:

Step 1. Open Disk Management. Right-click on your target volume and choose "Change Drive Letter and Paths".

Step 2. Click "Change" to continue. Choose the new letter drive as "E". Click "OK" to confirm.

Using Disk Management is not too hard for users, but the problem is that you might receive a warning that tells you some programs might not run properly. To change your partition name in an easier and safer way, I recommend you use a disk manager tool - EaseUS Partition Master Professional. It can assign a partition name to your drive within a few clicks.

Step 1. Run EaseUS Partition Master. Go to the "Partition Manager" section.

Step 2. Select your target partition, right-click on it, and choose "Change Drive Letter".

Step 3. Click the arrow and choose "E" from the drop-down menu. Click "OK" to confirm.

EaseUS Partition Master can help you take comprehensive control of your disk partition. You can do much more than assigning partition names, such as formatting, creating, and moving partitions. I hope you enjoy the experience.
