Can I Restore the MBR Image and Back Up It to the GPT Disk?

I want to back up the MBR disk and restore the MBR image to the GPT disk. Can this be done using the Windows built-in image backup? Or do I need a 3rd party program for it? I need some specific steps. Thanks for your help.

First, no Windows built-in tool can restore the MBR disk and back it to the GPT disk. Windows image software is very minimal in features and abilities, so it can't allow you to recover data back on the different partition styles of the disk. Furthermore, once you recover the data on the target disk, it will automatically turn to the MBR disk.

To achieve the requirements of restoring the data on a GPT disk, you need to convert the disk from MBR to GPT. The conversion process can be complex for computer novices unfamiliar with Window's built-in utilities. Because these tools are complicated and will delete your existing data or partitions, and leaves you an exhausting backup job. Out of the difficulty level and effectiveness, I recommend using EaseUS Partition Master. As an all-around partition software, it can convert disk between MBR and GPT efficiently and successfully. More importantly, EaseUS Partition Master will not delete the data during the conversion.

Here is the full guide on how to use EaseUS Partition Master:

Step 1. Click on the download button to install EaseUS Partition Master on your PC.

Step 2. Open the "Disk Converter" window and tick "Convert MBR to GPT," and click "Next."

Step 3. Choose the MBR disk with the restoring data and click "Convert" to confirm.

After the above operations, your data are stored on the GPT disk. If this GPT is used as a system disk, you need to check if your BIOS mode on the computer is UEFI in order to boot it properly. If not, open the link below to learn how to change the boot mode:
