Can I Delete the Healthy Recovery Partition From Old Operating System?

After purchasing an M.2 drive, I set up Windows on it. I didn't remove the old HDD from the PC. Right now, I want to format the old disk. The Recovery Partition cannot be deleted using Disk Management, even though I could remove the System and Main partitions.

Removing a recovery partition can be an effective way to free up valuable disk space on your computer's hard drive. However, it is essential to consider the implications of permanently losing the ability to restore your system to its factory settings. Thus, the Windows system abandons users to remove the healthy partition by making the delete volume greyed out.

EaseUS Partition Master can perfectly meet your requirements by safely removing a recovery partition from your old Operating System for free. If you have made the complete backup, this step-by-step guide will help you remove the healthy partition:

Step 1. Install EaseUS Partition Master to open the "Partition Manager" section. Right-click the healthy recovery partition and choose "Delete."

Step 2. When it asks: Do you want to delete the selected partition, click "Yes."

Step 3. Select "Apply" after clicking "Execute xx Task" to begin.

Beyond EaseUS Partition Master, you can run the commands to remove the recovery partition if you are an experienced user:

Step 1. Run the Run box with "Windows + R." Type diskpart and press"Enter" to bring up the CMD window.

Step 2. Input the commands as follows(Ensure to hit "Enter" after each):

  • list disk
  • select disk % (%: the target disk number)
  • list partition
  • select partition @ (@: the target partition number)
  • delete partition
  • exit
