How Do I Migrate Boot Drive Data to a New Drive?

The low disc space is really upsetting me, so I want to upgrade my boot drive to 1 TB. The issue is that I would want to move my data from my old boot SSD to the newer one so that it would appear as though I started where I left off rather than doing a complete Windows installation. How do I migrate boot drive data to a new drive, and what is the best way to transfer the boot drive?

Copying/migrating a boot drive to a new one is common in computer upgrades. It is very disappointing that Windows does not have disk cloning software to move/copy boot drive to another drive. In addition, reinstalling Windows is very complicated and time-consuming because you need to create a bootable USB to reinstall Windows and all necessary programs, and most users don't want to waste time on it.

Fortunately, there is another way out. It is called cloning, which can help transfer data from one SSD to another without reinstalling OS and programs, but you must utilize third-party cloning tools, as mentioned above.

EaseUS disk clone software is a reliable and efficient cloning tool for Windows. It can help you transfer your C drive to a new SSD and migrate your OS from an HDD to an HDD, an HDD to an SSD, and an SSD to an SSD. In addition, it can also help you clone a disk with bad sectors, transfer data from old hard drive to a new PC, create a WinPE bootable drive to boot your new PC after cloning.

Here is how to copy your boot drive to a new HDD/SSD:

Step 1. To clone the boot drive to a new one, select the old drive on your PC as the source disk in "Disk Mode" and tap "Next".

Step 2. Choose the new disk connected to your PC as the destination disk.

Step 3. Check the disk layout of your new drive by selecting "Autofit the disk", "Copy as the source", or "Edit disk layout".

Step 4. Click "Proceed" to start the task.

Cloning is the best way to migrate the boot drive to another drive. To this end, you need to use EaseUS Disk Copy, a professional data/OS migration tool.
