You'd better turn to a professional partition resize tool if data security is your priority. Based on my experience, EaseUS Partition Master can be trusted. With its help, you can easily change partition sizes (extend & shrink) without data loss. It supports NTFS and FAT file systems and can resize your hard drive partition with a few clicks.

Part 1. Shrink the Partition

Download and install this partition manager on your PC to shrink your partition in the following way:

Step 1: Navigate to the "Partition Manager" section, right-click on the partition you want to shrink to select "Resize/Move."

Step 2: Hold your mouse to drag the end of the target partition or adjust the partition size in the box to shrink the partition size. Click "OK."

Step 3: Hit the "Execute Task" button and click "Apply" to execute all changes.

Part 2. Extend the Partition

Now, I will teach you how to extend your partition on the hard drive using EaseUS Partition Master. It will partition a hard drive.

With Unallocated Space

  • Open the "Partition Manager" window, right-click on the partition you want to extend, to select "Resize/Move."
  • Drag the target partition's end or set the amount of partition size in MB to shrink the partition size. Click "OK" to continue.
  • Select the "Execute Task" option and hit "Apply" to keep the changes.

Without Unallocated Space

  • Right-click a big partition with enough free space on the system disk, and click "Allocate Space."
  • Select the system drive at the Allocate Space From (*) To section, and drag the end of the target drive into the unallocated space. Click "OK" to ensure.
  • Click "Execute Task" and hit "Apply" to save the changes.
