Will I Need New Licenses If I Clone My C Drive SSD (Windows 10 OS Drive) To Replace The Current One?

After three years of use, I am finding that I don’t have enough storage space on my SSD(C drive is on this SSD). So I plan to clone this SSD to a larger one and use the cloned SSD to replace the old one. However, I am concerned about losing the license key after replacement. Will I need a new license for my Windows?

The answer is NO if you are using the same laptop or computer. You don't need a new license key to activate Windows after cloning.

The license key is a code to activate Windows and verify that the Windows system hasn't been used on more PCs than the Microsoft Software License Terms allow.

So, the issue of requiring a new license key won't happen if you clone the Windows OS to another SSD and use it on the original device.

Disk cloning is an easy way to migrate data from one disk to another without losing it. While cloning the C drive SSD to a new one, choosing a reliable disk cloning software is the key to a successful cloning procedure. EaseUS Disk Copy is one of these.
