How Do I Get Preinstalled Windows 10 After Replacing HDD with SSD?

Hi, I want to install an SSD on my HP laptop with Windows 10 pre-installed in HDD. How to get preinstalled Windows 10 after replacing HDD with SSD? Is there any way to migrate the pre-installed Windows 10 from an old HDD to the new SSD?

Yes, you can get your Windows 10 back after changing an HDD with an SSD on your laptop. For this, you can clone your HDD to the SSD without reinstalling Windows and perform a clean installation of Windows 10 on the SSD without removing the HDD.

To get your preinstalled Windows 10 after replacing your hard disk with a solid-state drive, you will need to have a copy of Windows 10 and then do a clean install on the SSD. To this end, you will need to use Windows Media Creation Tool to help you install Windows 10 from scratch.

However, it is important to note that performing a clean installation of Windows 10 on a new SSD will have many procedures and is time-consuming. Under such circumstances, you'd better clone your HDD to SSD without reinstalling Windows.

Cloning can help move everything from one hard drive to another, including the operating system, preinstalled software, and data. But you have to use a third-party cloning program, like EaseUS Disk Copy, to do so. This is because Windows itself has no cloning utility.
