How Can You Transfer Logic to Another Computer?

I'm trying to get a new MacBook and I want to get the new update for Logic but my computer can't handle it at all. How do I get Logic to run on my new computer seamlessly? Thanks for your help!

In fact, It's tied to your Apple ID, so the worst situation is that you'll need to re-download it. Fresh installs are really great in general since you're not carrying any garbage/bloat from your old computer.

However, if you don't want to do this, there are other numerous options to back up and transfer your current Logic data to your new computer. For example, you can get an external SSD and place all your Logic project files there.

Or, you can AirDrop Logic from one Mac to another Mac user by following the steps below:

  • Find Logic Pro under the Applications folder in the Finder menu, right-click it, and select Share > Airdrop
  • From here, choose the device you want to AirDrop to and press send.

To Airdrop a Logic project or finished track, follow these steps:

  • Connect the Wi-Fi network and enable AirDrop for both computers.
  • In Logic, select File > Share > AirDrop.
  • Select the project or song you want to AirDrop and enter the title, format, bounds, etc.
  • Click Share, select your recipient, and press Done.

It's better to back up your data using a tool like EaseUS Todo Backup before transferring.
