How to Recover Crashed Excel Files or Restore Its Previous Version

I was completing a crucial worksheet, and I had twice saved it. The file is nowhere to be found after Excel crashed. I've tried everything I can think of, including the recycle bin, Excel's auto-recover feature, system-wide searches, and more. It has just vanished. Any recommendations? Possibly renaming it in some way. Is it possible to restore my computer to its previous state before the crash? Will it return the document? Thanks.
