How to Copy Only New or Changed Files in Windows 10

Every time my files change, I have to back up my Windows 10 fully. But doing this is an absolute waste of time. Can I save and back up only new or changed files on my Windows 10 PC? Do you have any good solution?

Copying only new or changed files is feasible if you use an incremental backup, which only backs up the data that has changed since the last backup. And incremental backup has the following benefits:

  • Save time - you don't need to copy all the same files that were copied before.
  • Save space - you can back up only new and changed files instead of backing up redundant data again.
  • Improved security/reliability - when a file is changed or added, the backup will be updated with the new version to ensure your data is always up-to-date.

Windows 10 doesn't have an incremental backup feature. Still, Windows users have a replacement efficient way to back up their changed files automatically - EaseUS Todo Backup, which owns the incremental backup and full, differential backup feature. Here're some key features of EaseUS Todo Backup:

  • Backup only changed files, including documents, photos, music, videos, etc.
  • Store backup to hard drives, NAS, cloud services, security zone, etc.
  • Compressed backup to save storage space on your USB or hard drive
  • Supports various types of backup, including full, incremental, and differential backup.

You can use EaseUS Todo Backup to set a scheduled incremental backup of your Windows 10 computer. It will automatically save a copy of these new-added or changed files as well as keep these original saved files.
