Norton Ghost is a disk cloning and backup tool that can help clone HDD to M.2 SSD in Windows 10; here are the steps:

  • Install Norton Ghost and launch it on your Windows 10 PC.
  • Install M.2 SSD into your computer and ensure it is detected.
  • Click the "Tools" tab on the interface, select "Copy My Hard Drive," then click "Next."
  • Select the HDD as the source drive.
  • Then select the M.2 NVMe SSD ad the destination drive.
  • Choose the cloning method you prefer (Sector by Sector, All Data, or Free Space)
  • Click "yes" to accept the warning message about overwriting the existing data on the destination drive.
  • Check "Optimize for performance" to speed up the cloning process if you have a large amount of data on the hard drive.
  • Click "Next" to begin cloning your hard drive. Wait for it to finish and click the "Finish" button.

It is a pity that Norton Ghost was discontinued in 2013 and isn't compatible with the latest operating system. If you are using the new versions of systems, you can use the Ghost alternative, EaseUS Disk Copy, to clone HDD to SSD with easy steps. It is compatible with Windows 11/10/8/7 and only requires a few clicks to finish the disk cloning process.
