How to Unlock Computer Without Password on Windows 10 via Command Prompt

Hi, I need help with my Windows 10 computer. I haven't used my PC for a long time, and I tried to turn it on today only to find out there's a password required to be input! Unfortunately, I don't remember what the password is, and I don't know how to reset or bypass it. Can someone help me with this issue? Appreciate your help!

You need to access Safe Mode with Command Prompt first to unlock your computer using cmd.

To unlock a computer via cmd, you should boot into Safe Mode first so that you can apply Command Prompt and reset the forgotten password. However, it might be a little complex for users who are unfamiliar with command lines. So, make sure you follow the guide below step by step to avoid unexpected problems.

Step 1. Hold the "Shift" key and click "Restart" on the login screen.

Step 2. Go to "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced Options" > "Startup Settings."

Step 3. Press "6/F6" to enter Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

Step 4. The Command Prompt window will show up. Input net user and hit "Enter." Then, take note of the target account name.

Step 5. Type in net user username 12345 and hit "Enter." (Replace "username" and "12345" with your own account name and password you want)
