Step 1: Turn on AirDrop on your iPhones. 

  • In iOS 10 or earlier: Swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone screen to open Control Center. Tap on AirDrop and set your iPhone to be discovered by Contacts Only or Everyone.
  • In iOS 11: Swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone screen to open Control Center. Press deeply on the module where Airplane Mode locate in. Tap on AirDrop and make your iPhone be discovered by Contacts Only or Everyone.

As you may know, AirDrop need both WiFi and Bluetooth connections to work properly. Thus don't forget to turn on WLAN and Bluetooth, too. If "WiFi not working" or "Bluetooth not working" on your iPhone, learn how to fix it first before you continue.

Step 2: AirDrop photos from iPhone to iPhone.

  • Go to Photos App on your source iPhone.
  • Select the photos you'd like to send to your iPhone 8 or iPhone X and tap on the Share button.
  • Click AirDrop and choose the name of your target device.
  • On your target device, namely your iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X, click Accept to start to receive the photos. When the data transfer is completed, you can go to the Photos App on your iPhone 8/8 Plus/X  to check the photos.
