I haven't been able to find a way to delete more than one contact at a time. Removing them one by one can be time-consuming because I have a lot of unwanted contacts to get rid of. Can someone tell me how to bulk-delete contacts on the iPad?

Have you ever met the same situation as we mentioned above? Deleting one or two contacts is easy. However, deleting multiple or all contacts on the iPad at once can be tricky since Apple doesn't offer its users options to remove bulk contacts. Luckily, this guide provides a few solutions to get the work done. Besides, we also collect some useful methods to help users who want to remove contacts from iCloud or clean up duplicate contacts on the iPad at once.
Deleting just one or two contacts on the iPad is easy, but trying to delete bulk contacts at the same time is a tough task. But that doesn't mean impossible. There are a couple of ways to do it.
Delete Single Contact on iPad
Step 1. Open your Contacts app on the iPad.
Step 2. Find the contact you want to remove and tap it.
Step 3. Tap “Edit” at the top right corner of the screen, then scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap “Delete Contact.”
Step 4. Confirm your choice.
Delete Multiple Contacts on iPad without Privacy Leak

Delete All Contacts from iCloud at Once via iCloud Settings
Step 1. Open the Settings app on the iPad > Tap your iCloud name.
Step 2. Tap on iCloud.
Step 3. Find Contacts and turn it off.
Step 4. A window will pop up and enables you to choose "Keep on My iPad" or "Delete from My iPad", just tap the latter one.

Step 1. Visit iCloud.com and sign-in with your Apple ID and passcode.

Recently we received a message from the Apple community says: "I feel so upset that I can not stop my iPhone from syncing my recently used email contacts. Now, I desperately want to wipe all of those out at once. Is there any way to delete them? It is better if you can help me delete them at once since I have hundreds of them."
You can easily prevent contacts from syncing in iCloud by going to the Settings app on iPad > iCloud > Tap Contacts and toggle contacts off. However, if you want to wipe out multiple contacts from the mail, you have to delete them one by one manually. If you have a large number of contacts to remove but don't want to delete them one by one, we suggest you remove the iCloud account from the iPad.
To remove multiple old and recently contacts from the Mail app one by one, you can:
Step 1. Open your Mail app on the iPad.
Step 2. Tap on the write new email icon at the bottom right of your screen.
Step 3. Tying the contact's name you want to delete into the "To" field.
Step 4. Then all recent contacts will appear with a blue circle next to them, just tap the icon next to the old email address to remove it.
Step 5. Tap "Remove from Recent" to permanently delete this email address from your previous recipients.

Many factors might result in "Contacts won't delete from iPad" Issue, such as iPad fails to update, Contacts app freezes or iPad stuck on Apple logo. Regardless of the reasons, you can simply fix this Issue by trying troubleshooting tips as below.
1. Restart your iPad.
2. Hard reset your iPad.
3. Force quit Contact App and re-lunch it by double-clicking on the Home button > Locate Contact app > Swipe up on it to quit > Click the Home button to return to Home Screen > Tap Contact to reopen it.
4. Update iOS by going to Settings > General > Software Update > Choose Download & Install.
5. Clear space on your iPad by going to Settings app > General > iPhone storage > Delete unwanted apps.
