You can not back up your iPad when it is stuck in recovery mode. To do so, you first need to get iPad out of recovery mode. If you fail to make it, you can use EaseUS MobiSaver to recover iPad data from iTunes or iCloud backup before restoring your iPad in DFU mode.
Many iPad users have suffered the problem that the iPad gets stuck in recovery mode when something goes wrong with the iOS update. At this moment, you can often see the Apple logo or Connect to iTunes icon onscreen for a few minutes with no change. Actually, when the iPad is in recovery mode, you can't back it up with iTunes, iCloud, or any third-party application unless your first exist recovery mode through a hard restart.
However, what if you fail to get your iPad out of recovery mode via a hard reboot, how to back up iPad recover mode to keep the data safe? Don't fret; we recommend you try EaseUS MobiSave to recover iPad data from iTunes or iCloud before restoring it in DFU mode, which will cause data overwriting.
You can try to exit the recovery mode on the iPad through a hard reboot by following the ways below.
For iPad Pro:
For iPad before iPad Pro:
After the force restart, your iPad should be out of recovery mode and work normally. If it fails, go on and try to restore your iPhone in DFU Mode with iTunes.
If you can't exit the recovery mode with a force restart, the final try is using the DFU mode, which can solve severe issues and restore your iPad to factory settings with iTunes.

Step 1. Launch EaseUS MobiSaver.
Among the three recovery options, choose "Recover from iTunes " or "Recover from iCloud" depending on your backup location and click "Scan". You need to enter your Apple ID and password.
Step 2. Preview and recover the files.
After the scan is complete, all the files that were found by EaseUS MobiSaver will be displayed on the left side in well-organized categories, and you can find the lost files quickly by choosing different categories. The software also allows you to preview the lost files one by one to find out those you want to get back. At last, just click "Recover" button to export the recoverable files and specify a folder to save them on your computer.
After back up all the iPad data in recovery mode on your computer, you can follow the steps given below to get iPad out of recovery mode.
For iPad Pro:
1. Connect your iPad Pro to your computer using a cable.
2. Launch iTunes on the computer.
3. Press and release the Volume Up button.
4. Press and release the Volume Down button.
5. Press and hold the Power button until you see the iTunes logo on the iPad's display.
For iPad before iPad Pro:
1. Turn off the iPad. Connect it to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Launch iTunes on the computer.
Hold down the Power button and the Home button at the same time. And keep holding both of these buttons for 10 seconds.
3. After 10 seconds pass, release the Power button but continue to hold the Home button for another 3-5 seconds.
4. Release the Home button. Be patient as you may need to repeat these step many times before entering the DFU mode.
5. When you succeed, iTunes will notify you that it has detected a device in recovery mode as the screenshot displays below. Click "OK" to restore the iPad with iTunes.
