Why Do I Have Two Recovery Partitions Windows 10

I recently realized I have two recovery partitions on my Windows 10 PC. Why is that? And can I delete one of them? Please let me know the details if you know how to do this. Thanks.

First, we should determine what a recovery partition is and why you have two. The recovery partition is used to store the Windows image that can be restored when the Windows system is corrupted or crashes. When you upgrade the Windows system to a higher version, the system will check if you have available space. If you haven't, it will create the second recovery partition.

Windows built-in utility Disk Management won't allow users to delete the recovery partition as it may contain the boot files and Windows recovery image. If you want to delete one, I recommend you try the free partition management tool, EaseUS Partition Master Free. This tool can allow users to remove recovery partitions seamlessly.

Follow the steps:

Attention: It's essential to back up all the important data before removing one of the recovery partitions.

Step 1. Install and activate EaseUS Partition Master, then choose "Partition Manager." Select "Delete" after clicking on the recovery partition.

Step 2. To confirm your selection, click "Yes" in the "Do you want to delete the selected partition?" question.

Step 3. In the new box, click "Execute Task" and then "Apply" to remove the recovery partition completely.
