Help, How Can I Format My Old Internal Hard Disk

I put my old hard drive (containing Windows XP) into my new PC; however, it beeps out loudly. I tried to format the old hard drive on my old PC, but it failed to boot. How can I format my old internal hard disk?

Don't worry. If you can make sure your hard drive is fine and can work properly, I have a way to help you here. You can use Windows Setup or External Storage Media to format your old internal hard disk containing the Windows operating system. Here are the steps:

Step 1. Start with the Windows installation disc. Insert your CD into the optical drive and follow the instructions below.

Step 2. Select the language you want and select "Next."

Step 3. Click "Install Now" and wait for the installation to complete. Note: This process does not install the Windows operating system.

Step 4. Accept the terms and conditions and select "Next."

Step 5. Go to the "Advanced" option. You will see a list of all existing drives. Click "Drive Options (Advanced)."

Step 6. Choose Format. Windows will now begin formatting your drive.

Then, after the process, you can format your old hard drive. Hope it can help. But if you don't have the Windows installation disc, there is another way.

Prepare a USB, and you can use a third-party tool, EaseUS Partition Master. This tool can help you create a bootable USB and then help format hard drive from BIOS.
