Cannot Extend Volume to Merge Unallocated Disk Space on the Same Drive

My primary Windows drive has 93.15 GB of unallocated disk space that I am attempting to merge, but the extend volume option is grayed out. Since I have data on my primary drive, I do not want to format it. How do I allocate this disk space that hasn't been allocated?

First, we need to figure out why the extend volume option in Disk Management is grayed out. Due to the Windows system restriction, you can't resize the partition when there's no unallocated space behind it, which means you need adjacent free space on this hard drive. Luckily, EaseUS Partition Master can break the restriction and provide multiple solutions for your needs.

This software specializes in partition resizing, data migration, disk cloning, external hard drive formatting, etc. It empowers users to allocate free space from another drive and extend system partition with or without adjacent unallocated space.

Solution 1. Using "Allocate Space"

This tool of EaseUS Partition Master aims to fix no free space on the drive scenario by flexibly moving some from other partitions. Follow the comprehensive steps below:

Step 1. Install this software, right-click on any partition with enough free space in "Partition Manager," and select "Allocate Space."

Step 2. Select the primary drive and drag the partition panel rightward to add the free space to it. Then click "OK" to confirm the change.

Step 3. Hit the "Execute Task" option and click "Apply" to start extending.

Solution 2. Using "Resize/Move"

What do you do if you already have unallocated space on the drive, but it's not next to the target partition? Easy! Below is a how-to guide for using the "Resize/Move" feature to solve this issue:

Step 1. Go to Partition Manager, locate the primary partition, and select "Resize/Move."

Step 2. Move the partition panel to add the unallocated space into your primary partition, and click "OK."

Step 3. Execute Operations by clicking the "Execute Task" > "Apply" button to keep all the changes.
