Do I Need a Backup If I Use OneDrive?🔥

I am using Windows 11 on my computer and have created a backup of my important files to OneDrive. But is it enough? Do I still need a backup even if I have backed up my data to OneDrive? Thanks in advance!

Yes, you still need a backup even if you use OneDrive to back up your data because you cannot put all your eggs in one basket. What occurs if:

  • Someone "kidnaps" your OneDrive account and deletes some of your files without your knowledge or consent in a timely manner.
  • You urgently need a file, and the internet is down.
  • Any additional circumstances that you encounter make you wish you had a backup?

OneDrive can be part of your backup plan, but you cannot only rely on Cloud backup. If you lose access to the account or don't have a network connection, Cloud backup could be an issue. Furthermore, you won't often back up your complete system to OneDrive.

According to the 3-2-1 backup rule, you also need a network-attached storage (NAS) device, which is helpful for numerous PCs or something similar to an external hard drive. In addition to holding more, external drives will back up and recover from any problems more quickly.

Most importantly, Cloud storage often offers limited storage space. For example, OneDrive provides 2G Cloud storage for free. If you run out of storage space, you must pay for more storage.

Under such circumstances, OneDrive cannot be an ideal choice to store your data. But this is no longer the case if you use professional backup software like EaseUS Todo Backup.

It is a multifunctional backup and restore tool for Windows. It can help automatically back up files, systems, disks, and computer apps. In addition, it can help you store your backups in various locations, like external drives, local drives, NAS, Security Zone, and Cloud.

It allows you to perform full, incremental and differential backups to meet your different needs. Most importantly, you can have 250G Cloud storage for free.

You still need a backup even if you use OneDrive. OneDrive can be part of your backup strategy, but not all.
