DJI File Recovery from Accidentally Formatted Internal Memory

Before moving the contents to the SD card, I unintentionally formatted the internal memory on my DJI Action 2. Can the files be recovered in any way? I instantly noticed the error, but there was no option to stop the formatting. Although the footage wasn't particularly significant, it would be helpful if there was a method to retrieve the pictures. I would have used the SD card as my primary storage if not for the ocean.

DJI drones and camcorders always store the pictures on an external SD card. Thus, SD card recovery always comes first when discussing DJI data recovery. However, if you can connect the DJI device to a PC, you can also recover DJI files from formatted internal memory.

You can use a third-party program called EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard to restore files from an SD card. The explicit goal of this software is to recover deleted or lost files from various digital data storage devices, such as CDs/DVDs, memory cards, SD cards, computer hard drives, etc. Here are the steps:

Step 1. Attach the DJI files to your computer. Launch the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. Click "Scan" after selecting the formatted storage from which you want to recover deleted files.

Step 2. All scan results will be shown on the screen. To locate the files you're looking for, use the "Filter" or "File Type" function.

Step 3. Choose the files you want to restore from your formatted internal memory, then click "Recover." You will see a new box where you may select a new location to save the files. Click "OK" to confirm after that.

You can also restore lost photos from DJI using DJI Go App.

DJI Go is available for iPhones, iPads, Android tablets, and smartphones. DJI flight logs might be distributed and recorded using it.

The DJI drone camera will immediately upload the pictures and movies it takes to the Go App on your mobile devices. Hence, if your DJI crashes and you lose all of your records, using this method might be helpful.

  • Launch the DJI Go app and select "Video Cache" under "Settings".
  • At the bottom of the app display, click "Editor".

Your most recent pictures might now be displayed to you. All of them are retrievable with a single click.
