The amount of RAM of my laptop is 8GB, but the Hogwarts Legacy requires 16 GB of RAM. I'm wondering if I can run Hogwarts Legacy on my gaming laptop with 8GB of RAM. Will the laptop get damaged? Or, are there any other problems other than game performance?

Theoretically, you can't run your Hogwarts Legacy on a gaming laptop with 8GB of RAM because this game requires a minimum of 16GB of RAM to perform normally.

If you force the game to run on your gaming laptop, it may destroy your computer, and the game process won't perform so smoothly. There are some other requirements you must satisfy if you want to install Hogwarts Legacy on your computer and play with it.

  • PC CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 (3.3Ghz) or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (3.2Ghz)
  • Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10/11
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB
  • Storage Space: 85GB

But, technically, the answer is YES because you can upgrade the RAM. In practice, most gaming laptop has a RAM slot, which means you can upgrade it. But you need to make sure that other components, like CPU, graphic card, storage, etc., are powerful and sufficient enough to support the regular operation of the game.

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive role-playing game, and palmers can explore and learn various skills. It may need 30 - 40 hours to complete the whole game tasks. You'd better back up the game save to continue the process from where you stopped last time. To create a backup of Hogwarts Legacy files, you can use third-party backup software, EaseUS Todo Backup, It can back up PC game saves with a few simple clicks, and you don't need to worry about the game loss with it.
