My SD Card Suddenly Is Unreadable and Mac Is Telling Me It Isn't Formatted

I have a lot of important photos stored on my SD card, and while I was browsing through them, my Mac suddenly couldn't read the contents of the SD card and prompted me with 'SD card not formatted'.

Suppose your SD card suddenly is unreadable, and the Mac is telling you it isn't formatted; don't worry! The first thing you need to do is to recover files from the unreadable SD card using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac Pro and then use Disk Utility on your Mac to format the SD card.

Follow the steps below to perform the SD card recovery on Mac:

Step 1. Install and open EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac Pro, and choose the SD card in the software window.

Step 2. Click 'Search for lost files' to scan all data on the unreadable SD card. Click 'Preview' to view its content.

Step 3. Choose the data you want, click 'Recover' to restore it, and save it to a safe storage location on your Mac.

After recovering your SD card, you can format the unreadable SD card to make it work normally on your Mac. Check out the following steps:

Step 1. Open 'Disk Utility' from the 'Applications > Utilities' folder on your Mac.

Step 2. Select the SD card, and click 'Erase' on the top menu.

Step 3. Choose the file format you want, rename the SD card, and click 'Erase' again to confirm.
