How to Fix Memory Card Deletes Files Automatically on Windows 11/10/8/7

I recently acquired a 400 GB Sandisk micro SD card and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 with S-pen. When I loaded videos onto the card, it occasionally deleted the individual videos but left the folders intact. The tablet's SD card was formatted, but the issue persisted. Does anyone have a solution for this?

If files disappear from the memory card automatically or the SD card unknowingly deletes data, the trouble can be mild to severe. It would be best if you showed patience to try each means from simple to complex and restore the SD card that cannot help delete files.

One of the apparent reasons is that your memory card file system has corrupted. In this case, when you insert the card into a computer, Windows prompts a message asking you to format it before you can use it. Do it as told.

Go through the whole process like this:

  • Confirm the format
  • Choose a file system (NTFS, FAT32, exFAT)
  • Tick Quick Format
  • Click Start

Sometimes, the formatting won't go smoothly, and you'll encounter an error 'Windows was unable to complete the format' on the SD card. Perhaps the memory card has been severely damaged by too many bad sectors. To call a stop an auto-deletion, try to check and repair bad sectors with an appropriate tool.

Windows has an inbuilt disk check and repair utility to perform SD card repair. In addition, you can also execute CHKDSK commands via Windows Command Prompt with admin privilege. After viewing both utilities in terms of accessibility, ease of use, and efficacy, we find a third-party free alternative for you.

EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is a user-friendly computer-fixing and recovery tool that is both safe and lightweight. It's a perfect alternative to the CHKDSK command. Use this one-click tool to fix the damaged file system quickly. It's easy and quick; only 3 steps are required.
