Run our programs from a boot CD-ROM

What is the Windows PE

Microsoft Windows Pre-installation Environment (Windows PE) is a powerful replacement for the Microsoft MS-DOS operating system in your deployment processes, test and diagnostic tool development, and system recovery processes. Windows PE is a minimal Windows system that provides limited services based on the Windows XP Professional and the Windows Server 2003 kernels. It also provides the minimal set of features required to run Windows Setup, access and install operating systems from the network, script basic repetitive tasks, and validate hardware.

The WinPE does not require a hard drive to boot; it can run solely from a CD drive using the memory for dynamic data. This feature makes the WinPE appealing for data recovery and system maintenance purposes.

Your IT professionals can use the Windows PE with both desktops and servers to work faster and smarter. The Windows PE helps the IT professionals in your organization be able to deploy and support Windows desktops and servers in the following ways:

  1. Automation. The deployment process becomes more streamlined because your administrators are able to automate the process by using the Windows PE platform and toolsets.
  2. Toolsets. The maintenance and troubleshooting tools are far more powerful in the Windows PE than in the MS-DOS. The Windows PE is able to run multiple tools at the same time using the built-in multithreading and multitasking support. This capability saves both time and resources that would otherwise be required to validate and test the hardware and software images.
  3. Deployment. IT Professionals no longer have to spend time building and maintaining the MS-DOS-bootable disks for deployment preparation. Windows PE provides the ability to boot from a variety of media types, including USB Flash Drive (UFD), DVD, CD, and the network, using the PXE remote-boot ROMs and Remote Install servers.

Using the Windows PE will make your IT professionals' deployment and recovery efforts less time-consuming and more productive.

Windows PE can support the multithreading and multitasking so that you can run multi-tools. This function is designed for saving the time of testing hardware and mirroring the software. It also can run the bath files/Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) script/ Windows Host script/ HTML application/ Microsoft Active X object. The Windows PE provides a temporary space based on the RAM. Hence, the Windows PE can run the applications which must write the temporary files from RAM to the hard disk (even there is an unusable hard disk).
