  • How to uninstall EaseUS Partition Master?

    Open the Windows Start menu in the lower left corner of your desktop. Select the All Programs menu item, then follow: EaseUS Partition Master > Uninstall EaseUS Partition Master. Or go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select the software and click Uninstall.

  • How to wipe the disk with EaseUS Partition Master?

    You can use the Wipe feature to wipe out a disk with EaseUS Partition Master, which alternately overwrites the disk by 0x00 and random digit according to the wipe times. In most cases, the data cleaned with this feature are not able to be retrieved. 

  • Is it a mandatory upgrade when a newer major version is released, like from ver 12 to ver 13?

    Nope, we will not force you to upgrade the product. You can either continue with the old version, or pay to upgrade to the new version. If you have purchased the Free Lifetime Upgrade package, the major upgrades are for free.

  • What can I do if it failed to boot from a cloned disk?

    There are many reasons why the cloned disk cannot boot, such as incorrect BCD info, incorrect clone operation, etc. To get a prompt assistance to fix this kind of issue, please contact EaseUS support team as soon as possible.

  • Can I repair a GPT-protection disk/SD card with EaseUS Partition Master?

    Regretfully, EaseUS Partition Master is not able to directly repair the GPT-protection disk/SD card, You  can connect the GPT disk to Win 8 or Win 10 computer if the current Windows system doesn't support GPT disk.

  • Can I change the cluster size with EaseUS Partition Master?

    EaseUS Partition Master is not able to change the cluster size on an existing partition. But you are able to set the cluster size while creating a new partition in EaseUS Partition Master.

  • Can I restore a lost partition with EaseUS Partition Master?

    EaseUS Partition Master can restore a deleted or lost MBR partition. However, if any further operations have been done to the unallocated space, such as recreating a partition or reinstalling the system, there would be no chance to recover the entire partition. You need to use our EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard to recover the lost data in it.

  • Can I convert a GPT dynamic disk to a MBR dynamic disk or convert a MBR dynamic disk to a GPT dynamic disk?

    Yes, EaseUS Partition Master can help you with that by 3 steps:

    1. Please convert the dynamic disk to a basic disk

    2. Please convert the basic disk from MBR to GPT or from GPT to MBR

    3. Please convert the basic disk to dynamic disk.

  • Can I convert a mirrored volume to a basic disk with EaseUS Partition Master?

    EaseUS Partition Master can convert the mirrored volume to a basic disk. However, you will have to break the mirrored volumes into simple volumes in Disk Management before converting the disk to basic.

  • Can I convert the dynamic disk to a basic disk in EaseUS Partition Master without data loss?

    You are able to convert a dynamic disk to a basic disk with EaseUS Partition Master. To ensure a smoothly converting process, we suggest that you close all the other unnecessary software before conversion.

  • Can I interconvert the disk between the primary partition and the logical partition with EaseUS Partition Master?

    You are able to interconvert between the primary partition and the logical partition with EaseUS Partition Master. However, due to the fact that the system and the boot partitions must be primary ones, this feature is unusable for them.

  • Will the “Migrate OS” feature transfer the Windows system files only or the whole C drive?

    To ensure that the migrated system will boot normally, the Migrate OS feature will transfer all the files in the system and the boot partitions. Generally, the boot partition is the C drive so the transfer will include all the files in C.

  • Is EaseUS Partition Master compatible with ExFAT?

    Regretfully, EaseUS Partition Master doesn't support exFAT file system. Currently, this software supports the file systems such as FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, ReFS, EXT2 and EXT3.

  • It says EaseUS Partition Master is compatible with EXT2 and EXT3 partition, does it mean that the Linux system is also compatible?

    EaseUS Partition Master is able to create and resize the EXT2 and EXT3 partitions in Windows . However, it doesn't support Linux operating system.

  • Why it failed to convert the MBR system disk to GPT?

    There may be two reasons:

    1) Please check if there are already 4 primary partitions on the system disk. If it is, please delete or convert one partition to logical and try to convert again.

    2) Please check if the system and the boot partition are on the different disks. If yes, please manually combine them to the same disk. You can contact our technician team for a further assistance.

  • What can I do if failed to create a WinPE USB/CD/DVD in EaseUS Partition Master?

    This issue might be caused that the built-in burning tool in our product is not compatible with your USB/CD/DVD device. Under such a circumstance, please select Export ISO option and save the ISO file to any location on the computer, and then burn that ISO to USB/CD/DVD with a third-party burning software.

  • Do I have to uninstall the old version before installing a newer version?

    Nope, you can just install the newer version over the old version. It will automatically uninstall the old version and install the newer version.

  • How to enter the license in EaseUS Partition Master?

    Please launch EaseUS Partition Master and find the key icon on the right top corner. It will pop up an activation box by clicking that icon. For a further user guide, please refer to:


  • Is the “Merge” feature the best option to expand a partition?

    It is suggested NOT to use the merge feature to expand a system partition. The merge feataure will wipe the drive letter on the selected partitions, which might have an effect on some system files. If you want to expand a system partition, we suggest that you use the Resize feature instead.

  • The cloned system partition becomes partition A, can I change the drive letter to C?

    You don’t need to change the drive letter manually. Since there must be one and only one C drive in Windows, the cloned system partition will be temporarily named A or other drive letter. When the computer boots from the cloned system partition, the drive letter will automatically change to C. The original C drive will be assigned as another drive letter.

  • Do I have to format the source system disk after cloning it to a new disk?

    It will not make a difference on the cloned system whether you format the source disk or not after the clone. If you want to format the source disk and use it as a data disk for future use, we suggest that you format it after making sure that the computer can boot normally from the cloned disk.

  • How do I upgrade to a newer version of EaseUS Partition Master?

    When a newer version is released, you will receive an email including an upgrade notification and you will also be prompted to upgrade the product when you run the product. You just need to follow the instructions to download and activate the latest version.

  • Does EaseUS Partition Master license apply to multiple computers?

    The license of Partition Master Professional and Server editions can be used on 1 computer only, while that for for the Technician and Unlimited editions can be used on multiple machines.

  • What is the difference between EaseUS Partition Master Trial version and the Free version?

    Free is for home users only, with most basic functions available such as partition resize and clone. While trial can help you understand how this product works and test what a full license can do on a business or server OS machine.

  • Can I expand the partition from different physical disks with EaseUS Partition Master?

    EaseUS Partition Master cannot expand a partition from different basic disks. You can consider cloning the partition to a bigger disk as an alternative. However, extending to different disks is available for a spanned volume on dynamic data disks.

  • Is EaseUS Partition Master compatible with RAID?

    Yes, EaseUS Partition Master is compatible with most of the RAID structures such as RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6 and RAID 10.

  • Is EaseUS Partition Master compatible with dynamic disks?

    Yes, EaseUS Partition Master is compatible with dynamic volumes such as simple volume, spanned volume, stripped volume and mirrored volume.

  • Can I use EaseUS Partition Master to convert FAT32 to NTFS or NTFS to FAT32?

    EaseUS Partition Master can help you convert FAT32 to NTFS and also convert from NTFS to FAT32.

  • Is EaseUS Partition Master compatible with external device?

    Yes. EaseUS Partition Master is compatible with most of the external storage devices on the market, including USB external drives, USB drives, SD cards, etc.

  • What should I prepare before resizing the partition?

    On the partition that is going to be operated, there might be some files being occupied by other programs. To ensure a successful operation, we suggest that you close all the unnecessary software before resizing that partition. Otherwise, EaseUS Partition Master will detect the partition being locked by the other software and require a reboot to resize the partition under boot mode.

  • If I couldn’t boot my computer, can I use EaseUS Partition Master to check the partition status?

    You can create a WinPE disk with a paid copy of EaseUS Partition Master. It can help you boot the PC prior to Windows to check the partition status on a problematic computer.

  • If I want to resize C drive, can I install EaseUS Partition Master to the same drive?

    Yes, you can install the product on any partition you like. It makes no difference on resizing the partition.

  • Does EaseUS Partition Master supports silent installation?

    Yes, it does support silent installation. Please refer to the following steps to implement a silent installation.

    1. Press "Win" + "R" keys at same time to call out the "Run" window.

    2. Input "C:\epm.exe /verysilent" or "C:\epm.exe /silent". We assume that you put the installation file of our product (epm.exe) under the C: partition. You can also put it on another path as you wish.

    3. Then click "OK" to install our product silently.

  • Why it requires to reboot the PC after clicking “execute operation”?

    A reboot is required if some files on that partition are being occupied by other programs. To prevent data loss, EaseUS Partition Master will reboot your machine and enter the boot mode to execute the operations.

  • How to ensure the system will boot normally after converting it from MBR to GPT?

    The GPT system disk only supports 64-bit operating system newer than Win 7. And it can boot via EFI/UEFI boot mode. Therefore, please make sure that your operating system supports booting from the GPT disk before the conversion. Also set the boot mode to EFI/UEFI in BIOS settings after the conversion.

  • What is the difference between “Migrate OS” and “Clone”?

    Migrate OS feature only copies the system and the boot partitions to the target disk and makes sure that the copied disk can boot normally, while Clone chooses the entire disk or a single partition as a source. If you just want to upgrade the system disk on the current PC, we suggest that you use Migrate OS feature.

  • There are C drive and D drive on the Disk 0. Can I shrink the D drive to extend the C drive?

    If there is unused space on the D drive, you can shrink the D drive to spare an unallocated space and use it to extend the C drive.

  • Will it cause any data loss after resizing the partition in EaseUS Partition Master?

    Generally, it will not cause any data loss or boot issue by resizing a partition. However, in order to protect your data, we suggest that you backup the partition before resizing, in case of any unexpected situations such as power outages, computer hardware failures, etc. You can use EaseUS Todo Backup to backup the partition and its trial version is fully functioned for 30 days.

  • What core features does EaseUS Partition Master include?

    EaseUS Partition Master includes core features such as resize/move partition, convert disk to MBR/GPT, convert dynamic disk to basic, 4K Alignment, Migrate OS, disk clone, Partition Recovery, System optimization and Delete/format/wipe, etc.

  • What is the difference between EaseUS Partition Master Unlimited and Technician edition?

    Both the Unlimited and the Technician version can be used on an unlimited number of computers, except that the unlimited version is limited to be used on the computers within the same company.

  • Does EaseUS Partition Master Professional apply to Windows Server OS?

    Nope, EaseUS Partition Master Professional does NOT apply to Windows Server OS. You will need to purchase EaseUS Partition Master Server version at least.

  • How many editions does EaseUS Partition include and how are they different from each other?

    There are five editions for EaseUS Partition Master: Free, Professional, Server, Unlimited and Technician. Please click here to further check the comparison details.


  • What is the difference between EaseUS Partition Master Trial and Professional edition?

    A complete operation in EaseUS Partition Master contains 2 major steps:

    1. Create a pending operation by making partition or hard drive changes.

    2. Actually execute the operation with Execute Operation button.


    The trial is totally free at step 1, but step 2 requires a full license.


    If trial edition is able to do the step 1, it means that our product is able to work for you. To actually execute the tasks, please purchase a license.
