Unable to Merge Partitions in Windows 10, How Can I Do?

I had a Hackintosh that was dual-booted with Windows 10, and I deleted the partition to get rid of the Hackintosh. I want to merge the unallocated space I now have on my HDD back into my Windows 10 C drive. I tried Aomei Partition Assistant, but it doesn't work.

According to your information, you deleted the partition containing Hackintosh to create unallocated space, which you wanted to merge into the C drive with AOMEI Partition Assistant but failed. Don't be panic. I will offer you a practical and effective solution to this case. Before that, let me explain: many utilities, including the Windows Disk Management tool, will only support users to extend the partition with the unallocated space behind the target partition.

However, EaseUS Partition Master owns multiple tools to help you extend the partition without adjacent unallocated space, various from "Resize/Move" to "Merge."

Way 1. Extend the C Drive With Free Space

The first way is the most straightforward - use the "Resize/Move" feature of EaseUS Partition Master to merge the unallocated space that is not behind the C drive. Download EaseUS Partition Master and refer to the instructions below:

Step 1. Locate the C drive and right-click it to apply the "Resize/Move" tool.

Step 2. Drag one of the C drive's panels and expand it into unallocated space before it. Click "OK" to confirm the action.

Step 3. Click "Execute 1 Task(s)" and then choose "Apply" to increase the C drive's size.

Way 2. Merge Two Partitions

Another way is to create a new partition using the unallocated space and merge this partition with the C drive. Below is the comprehensive tutorial you can follow to merge partitions:

Step 1. Make a new partition:

  • Right-click the unallocated space to choose "create" and assign the partition size, file system, and label based on your need.
  • Click "OK" > "Execute 1 Task(s)" > "Apply" to go on.

Step 2. Merge the two partitions:

  • Right-click the newly created partition, choose "Merge," then locate the C drive to combine.
  • Press "OK" > "Execute 1 Task(s)" > "Apply" to combine two partitions.
