To begin with, Local Reinstall is a feature that allows you to reinstall Windows on your computer without going through the entire process of downloading and installing the operating system. This can be a useful tool but you need to check the pros and cons before using it.

Pros:

  • It replaces all of the old files and settings, which can help fix many common problems on your computer.
  • Local reinstall will preserve your customizations or programs, so you can see them on your new Windows.

Cons:

  • If you haven't made a backup of your data, you may lose important files during the process.
  • The system may break down if there are any issues during the reinstallation process.

Therefore, it's better to create a backup of the Windows installation before using Local Reinstall. This is not difficult, you can do it with the built-in Backup and Restore tool. Or, you can use third-party backup software such as EaseUS Todo Backup.

After getting your Windows backed up, you can then start the Local Reinstall process.
