I have some important files on my Windows 10 computer. Therefore, I want to back up these files to prevent data loss. But should I use File History or Windows Backup? What is the difference between them? Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance.

File History is the ideal option if you only want to back up the data in your user folder. Windows Backup will assist you in protecting both your files and the system. Moreover, you can only select Windows Backup to keep backups on internal disks.
When files are stored in Libraries, File History automatically creates incremental backups to another storage device, such as a network share or external hard drive. In addition, you can choose to exclude specific folders from backups or add other folders.
Backup and Restore enables users to create a system image and file/folder backup. You can restore your system from the backups created earlier.
File History and Backup and Restore are the built-in backup programs for Windows computers. But they cannot back up everything on your computer and offer advanced options to protect your data. For example, you cannot back up in the system folder if you select "Let Me Choose" when using Backup and Restore, and File History only allows you to back up your files.
Under such circumstances, it is better to use professional backup software, like EaseUS Todo Backup.
EaseUS Todo Backup is a multi-functional backup and recovery utility for Windows 11/10/8/7. It allows you to automatically back up your files, systems, partitions, disks, etc. In addition, it enables you to compress backups to save space and create full, incremental and differential backups. Most importantly, you can have 250G cloud storage for free.
Although File History and Windows Backup are not good enough, they can still help you protect your data. If you want to have more backup options and flexibility, use professional backup software like EaseUS Todo Backup.
