Yes, it is completely safe to install two different OS on one computer.

The number of installed operating systems is not limited to two. As long as you still have hard disc space available, you can install a lot on one computer. However, for convenience's sake, you could wish to install various OS versions on various hard disks. Generally speaking, a Linux variant only needs about 15-20 GB of space, whereas a Windows variant needs more.

Before installing different operating systems on your computer, you should make some preparations:

  • Back up your data on your computer in case something goes wrong.
  • Install a new hard drive or use Windows Disk Management Tool to create a new partition.
  • Creating a bootable USB.

When creating a bootable USB drive, you can use professional bootable USB creator tools, like EaseUS OS2Go, to help you.
